Fyodor Dostoyevsky
The Idiot
Part I: Chapter I
At about nine o`clock one morning in late November, during a thaw, a train on the St. Petersburg-Warsaw railway was approaching St. Petersburg at full speed. The weather was so damp and foggy that the break of day had brought only a pale and sickly light and little could be made out at more than a dozen paces beyond the coach windows.
